LOUISBURG - Anne Turner Champion, 85, died Wednesday night, May 1, 2019. Funeral service was held Saturday, May 4, in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. Burial followed ed in the Gupton family cemetery.

She was a daughter of the late Pomp and Nobie Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene, Cecil, Joe and John Turner; sisters, Mary Lee Hicks, Elsie Radford and Dorothy Turner; and infant daughter Elizabeth Champion.

Surviving: husband of nearly 66 years, William Champion; daughters, Dianne Champion of Goldsboro and Linda Thomas (Warren) of Louisburg; and son, "Billy" Champion of the home; sisters Joyce Crider (Nelson) and Carol Boone; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
