ANNE LAURA BRAXTON

CREEDMOOR/GRANVILLE COUNTY--Anne Laura Braxton, 91, a lifetime resident of Creedmoor, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC.

She was born June 21, 1928 in Granville County to the late Henry (Chief) and Mary Ellington Rogers. Mrs. Braxton was a member of First Baptist Church in Creedmoor and retired from "The Children's Psychiatric Institute" in Butner. Mrs. Braxton was very active in Church and the Flat River Association as a volunteer and also with Granville County Schools.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at First Baptist Church, Creedmoor by Dr. Tom Jenkins, Rev. Jim Shelley and Rev. David Richardson. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by two daughters, Toni Anne Wheeler (Mike) of Butner, Anthea Breedlove of Creedmoor; a son, Ray Braxton III (Betty) of Franklinton; three grandsons that she loved dearly, Maxwell Wheeler of Butner, Ty Breedlove of Oxford and Samuel Braxton of Franklinton; a niece, Doreen R. Lee (Fred) of Cape Carteret; and three caregiving "Angels," Emma Perry, Mary Needham and Dianne Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E. Braxton, Jr., a brother, Ed Rogers, and sister- in-law, Shelia Rogers.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, July 1, 2019, at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at her home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 38, Creedmoor, NC 27522.
