CLYDE W. MURPHY, SR
September 28, 1938 - July 16, 2019

CASTALIA - Clyde Willis Murphy, Sr., 80, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon surrounded by his family.

Clyde was a son of the late Albert and Rachel B. Murphy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Faylene "Faye" E. Murphy and his son, Clyde W. Murphy, Jr. and his brothers, Bobby G. Murphy and W.C. Murphy.

Clyde was a member of Red Bud Baptist Church. He started his career as a hog farmer and then went on to own and operate a car dealership until his retirement.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 2 pm at Red Bud Baptist Church with visitation to follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

Clyde is survived by his son, Michael D. Murphy; daughter-in-law, Lori Murphy all of Castalia; sisters, Dawn Gupton Rawlings and husband, James of Zebulon; Jean Murphy King and husband, Johnny of Greensboro; grandchildren, Shannon Murphy Ridout and husband, E.B.; Chris Murphy and wife, Caroline; Garrett Murphy.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1284 NC 58 Hwy. Castalia, NC 27816.
