DAVID LEE SLEDGE, JR.

FRANKLINTON--David Lee Sledge, Jr., 65, of Franklinton, NC, passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident on August 3, 2019. David was born on June 28, 1954 to the late Aileen C. and David Sledge, Sr.

David loved riding motorcycles, racing cars, playing the guitar, and spending time outdoors. He was a self-employed transmission auto mechanic, but enjoyed tinkering and could build anything, and he was a perfectionist with everything he did. David was a Christian and spoke with others often about God. He cared about others, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. David was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

David is survived by his loving wife, Janet Puett Sledge; his daughters, Lisa S. Johnson (Ricky) and Crystal S. Smith; stepchildren, Josh West, Dale West, and Jennifer West; grandchildren, Joseph, Jackson, Daniel, Lily, Trea, Adriana, Savannah, Julie, Ethan, Luke, Avery, Finleigh, and Paislee; his sisters, Loretta Adams, and Barbara Wight (Dennis); and his brothers, Daniel Irvine and Jay Irvine (Charlene).

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 1:00pm-1:45pm at Perry's Chapel Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
