JOHN THOMAS STEVENSON
Jan. 21, 1943 - Sept. 13, 2019

John Thomas Stevenson, 76, of Castalia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 13, 2019.

John was born in Vance County, North Carolina, on January 21, 1943, son of John Perkins "Pike" and Ora Thomas Faulkner Stevenson.

John retired from the tobacco industry after 56 years of service. He was a loving and devoted family man. He was an avid fox hunter and sports enthusiast. John was a huge supporter and advocate of the dog hunting sport in the state of North Carolina.

A funeral service was held at 3:30 pm, Sunday September 15, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, Louisburg, with Reverend Melton Tyson and Reverend Jared Russell officiating. Visitation was prior to the service from 1:30 to 3:15 pm. Burial followed at Red Bud Baptist Church Cemetery.

John is survived by the love of his life and caregiver, Pat Griffin Stevenson; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Scarlett Stevenson of Louisburg; daughter and son-in-law, Kim S. and Keith Gupton of Bunn; grandchildren, Danielle and Mary Elizabeth Stevenson, Troy and Trevor Gupton; great-grandson, Wyatt Eldridge; sister, Dorothy Hedgepeth of Fayetteville; brother, Bill Stevenson and wife, Cindy of Henderson; many nieces and nephews.
