A day of fun, sun and vintage vehicles

FALL FUN. When the Gold Sand Volunteer Fire Department held a day filled with vintage vehicles and fun, Jerry and Cynthia Capps, (above) found the perfect perch to have lunch, the running board of their 1920 Corbitt truck. Jerry Capps' father purchased the truck used in 1935 and used it on his tobacco farm until parking it in 1949. Years later, the Capps decided to restore the vintage vehicle, which was manufactured by the Henderson Corbitt Co. that began building vehicles in 1910.
