MARJORIE L. DICKERSON
April 15, 1926 - November 14, 2019

LOUISBURG - Marjorie Leonard Dickerson 93, of Louisburg, also known to her family as "Sister," went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Her life had a profound impact on the lives of all she touched. She was a source of faith, strength, wisdom, grace, and generosity, always looking for the good in everyone. She loved her family and friends, but most of all she loved her Lord, whom she faithfully served. She loved her children unconditionally, always guiding them and supporting them during each phase of their lives. She taught them right from wrong, to respect others, but most importantly to always put God first in their lives. She was a model wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend.

Marjorie was born in Franklin County on April 15, 1926 to the late Lillie Valentine Leonard and Eugene Bryant Leonard. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Dickerson; son, David Eugene Dickerson; brother, Wilton Eugene Leonard; sisters, Nell Leonard Wrenn, Mary Leonard Nash, Sue Leonard Bartholomew, Pansy Leonard German, Rochelle Leonard Hayes, and Nancy Leonard Burnette.

She leaves to treasure her love and memories, her beloved daughter, Yvonne D. Ayscue and husband, Larry; son, Bobby L. Dickerson and wife, Kelly; granddaughters, Catrice A. Walker (Shane), and Cassie Dickerson; and great-granddaughter, Lillie Walker. Marjorie is also survived by her brother, Sam T. Leonard, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm on Saturday at Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory. All other times at the home of Larry and Yvonne Ayscue. A celebration of life to honor Marjorie was held Sunday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Melton Tyson and Rev. Gary Shugart officiating. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

Flowers accepted, or donations may be made to the Durham Rescue Mission, 507 E. Knox Street, Durham, NC 27701.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
