VELVET N. PERDUE
November 14, 1970 - December 28, 2019

LOUISBURG - Velvet Newman Perdue, 49, of Louisburg, died Saturday morning.

Velvet was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley S. Jordan, and her father, Ralph Newman.

Velvet had a career that lasted 21 years with Franklin County Department of Social Services where she touched many lives while there. In the summer months, Velvet loved going to the beach and enjoyed spending time with the "G.H.B.'s." She will always be loved and missed.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Louisburg United Methodist Church.

Velvet is survived by her husband, Chris Perdue; son, Gage Tharpe of Louisburg; sisters, Crystal Newman of Smithfield; Ivy Mowrer and nephew, Winn Mowrer, both of Pennsylvania; uncles, William Wimbish and Jack Stebbins, both of Clarksville, VA; stepmother, Carol Newman of Myrtle Beach, SC; mother-in-law, Genny Davis and her husband, George Davis; father-in-law, Dr. J.B. Perdue, all of Louisburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family's request is that memorials be made to Happy Camper, c/o Franklin County Department of Social Services, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, NC 27549 or Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill, 101 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27517.
