DAVID R. EDWARDS, JR.

YOUNGSVILLE--David Raney Edwards, Jr., 38, passed away unexpectantly Jan. 17, 2020 at his home in Youngsville. David was born Oct. 20, 1981 and was the son of Raney and Debbie Edwards, who survive.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Lancaster Funeral Home, 804 N. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, at Lancaster Memorial Park, 2210 N.C. Highway 561, Louisburg.

David was an adventurous man. With a sharp wit, he was quick with a joke and had a unique gift for making people laugh. David enjoyed cruises, the outdoors, and the natural beauty of the world. He was preparing for a 2,600 mile plus through hike of the Pacific Crest Trail at the time of his passing.

David had a talent for all things culinary. No dish was beyond his skill and he enjoyed sharing that gift with family and friends, making sure no one left the table hungry.

But more than all of those things, David was a loving son and grandson, loved and cherished by his parents, grandparents and entire family.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Raney and Debbie Edwards, of the home; his grandmother, Joan Edwards, of Louisburg; aunts, Debbi Edwards Walker, Becklee Debnam Niemchak, Cindy Debnam Phelps and Alicia Debnam; uncles, Andrew Debnam and Peter Niemchak; and many cousins who loved him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Claude Edwards, of Louisburg; his maternal grandparents, Becky and Lee Debnam, of Raleigh; and an uncle, Lee (Butch) Debnam Jr.

In lieu of flowers, consider contributions to Pacific Crest Trail Association, 1331 Garden Highway, Sacramento, CA 95833 or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.

"If it's not complicated, it wouldn't be life, it would just be existence."
