ANNIE LEE HAYES GILLIAM

FRANKLINTON--Annie Lee Hayes Gilliam, 87, of Franklinton passed away on February 3, 2020. She was born on February 1, 1933 to the late Milton and Annie Barnes Hayes. In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Gilliam; and siblings, Raymond Hayes, Eugene Hayes, Tom Hayes, and Bettie Hayes.

Annie was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was a lifelong resident of Franklinton, where she raised her sons and operated Ann's Florist. Annie's greatest pride was her sons and grandchildren, all of whom she loved without reserve. She possessed a captivating personality and to know her was to love her.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond T. and Wendy Gilliam and Mike and Julie Gilliam; her six grandchildren, Joseph Gilliam (Bayle), Grey Gilliam, Carter Gilliam, Roxie Packer (Worth), India Gilliam, and Brianna Campbell (Desiree); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Popes Chapel Christian Church, 1237 Pocomoke Rd., Franklinton, NC, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend David Averette officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
