'Relay' activities ongoing

Relay Season to fight cancer is going full blast and help is needed, organizers said.

So far the group has raised $33,000 of the $100,000 goal, although the COVID-19 pandemic has forced changes in this year's schedules.

So far, Relay for Life is still slated for May 1, at Franklinton High School from 6 p.m. until midnight. Survivors should arrive by 5:30 p.m.

The theme this year is "Carnival for a Cure." Teams are encouraged to decorate and have engaging activities using the carnival theme.

There is no charge to attend, but there will be vendors and teams selling items to raise money for the cause.

Information and team registration may be found at www.relayforlife.org/franklinconc

The March 28: Cancer Survivor Dinner and Play, "God Spell," that was scheduled at Franklinton High School has been postponed. No new date for the event has been set.

Admission is $10 for taco meal and one auction paddle. Those planning to attend must have tickets in advance.
