LOUISBURG--Robert Perry Edwards, 85, of Louisburg passed away on April 20, 2020. He was born on September 6, 1934 to the late Zeddie Omega and Violet Naff Edwards. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Edwards.

Robert served in the US Navy before his retirement as a meter base supervisor with Westinghouse of Raleigh. He was known for his skills of welding and small engine work. Repairing lawn mowers or welding farm equipment for community friends was something he loved. For many years he enjoyed playing guitar in the band with his friends. Family and friends were important to him and many of his friendships lasted all his years.

When the social distancing restrictions are lifted, Robert's family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life Service to be held at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services.

Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Carol Edwards; his granddaughter, Rachel Weddington and Mitch.
