DENNIS GREY BROWN

FRANKLINTON--Dennis Grey Brown, 72, of Franklinton passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at his residence.

He was born in Granville County, the son of the late Virginia Clinard May Brown and James Benjamin Alvin Brown. A memorial service celebrating his life was held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2020 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home. Inurnment followed in the Popes Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Franklinton.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 52 in Franklinton. He enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, playing cards and racing.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Bettie Grace Griffin Brown; a brother, James Bradsher Brown; and two sisters, Mary Lettie Brown Stephens and Julia Ruth Brown.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, Brandon Brown and wife Courtney of Franklinton, Shawn Brown and wife Jennifer of Raleigh; grandchildren, Alexis Brown, Cheyanne Moxley, David Moxley, Jr.and Ava Mulgrew; nieces; Suzanne Stephens Gilroy and Amy Lianne Stephens Currle.

Friends visited with the family from 2-3 p.m. prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587 and all other times at the home of Brandon and Courtney Brown.
