LILLIE MAE GAY TERRELL

LOUISBURG--Lillie Mae Gay Terrell was born in Franklin County, NC to Wilson and Lossie Sykes Gay on October 3, 1927. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. She never met a stranger and the sharing of new friends was always a joy to her.

Lillie was the owner of "Lillie's Dress Shop," located in Louisburg, NC for twenty-five years and retired December 21, 2000. There were many women who were clothed, fitted, and were given the special treatment by Lillie. She loved her customers and was thankful to have such dedicated friends.

Lillie was previously a member of Cedar Rock First Baptist Church and later a member of Rolesville Baptist Church in Rolesville, NC. She was a life-long Baptist. While at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, she enjoyed working with the music programs, playing the piano for twenty-five years and the church organ for six years. Music was always very special to her and played a big part in her life. She found much joy in music, flowers and her many friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Rolesville Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Randy Bridges officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service. Face coverings and social distancing will be appreciated.

Lillie is survived by her son, George Wilson Stallings and wife, Rebecca, of Louisburg; grandson, Kevin B. Stallings of Nashville, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Park Terrell, III and by her daughter, Phyliss Stallings McCool.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rolesville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 185, Rolesville, NC 27571 or to the Franklin Oaks Activity Fund, 1704 NC Hwy 39 N, Louisburg, NC 27549.

A service of Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811)
