Jan. 27, 1944 - July 2, 2020

CASTALIA - Willie Frank Swanson, 76, passed away Thursday evening at his home. He was born in Franklin County, a son of the late Joseph Frank Swanson and Margaret Ella Wester Swanson. Mr. Swanson was a master electrician and partner in Swanson Enterprises, and a Vietnam veteran of the US Navy.

Willie Frank Swanson was an exceptional man with a big heart, smart, fun loving and if asked "Always doing good for Willie."

He loved all his family and many, many friends, God and his Country. His constant companion and best friend, Leroy, will surely miss him.

All of the family would like to sincerely thank his long time caregiver, Angela Jackson, for the millions of hours of love, care, compassion and putting up with "Willie Said." You saved each other and we are eternally grateful!

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Swanson Bradberry and Dale Bradberry of Castalia; son, James Franklin Swanson of Castalia; sister, Ella Swanson Wrenn and husband Ronnie of Louisburg; brother, Glenn Swanson of Louisburg; grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, and Zachary Bradberry and Tabatha Clark; great-grandchildren, Lexi Dornseif and Aubrie Creech; caregiver, Angela Jackson; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend and protector, Leroy Bocephus Maxwell Swanson of the home.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Willie Frank Swanson, 10928 NC Hwy. 58 N., Castalia.

The family will receive friends at the home of Willie Swanson, 10928 NC Hwy. 58 N., Castalia at all times.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 1235 South Clark Street, Suite 910, Arlington, VA. 22202.
