December 23, 1951 - September 16, 2020

LOUISBURG - Charles Floyd Batton, 68, of Louisburg, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was a son of the late David and Dorothy Alford Batton.

The funeral was held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. Burial followed at the Gupton Family Cemetery. The body lay in state at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm for those wishing to sign the register and pay their respects.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cynthia Best Batton; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and David Devins of Memphis, TN; Shannon and Robert Wayne Gupton of Louisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Joyce Batton, Jr. of Louisburg; Jerry Batton of Bunn; Darnell and Lou Batton of Louisburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and George Ray of Louisburg; Carol and Carvel Cheves; Terry and Bill Holt, all of Bunn; grandchildren, Craig Devins and Brooke Devins, both of Memphis, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 394 Ferrells Bridge Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Charles was born in Franklin County and grew up in the Bunn Community. He followed his father's footsteps and spent many years working as a law enforcement officer in various capacities in the county. Being part of a loving family, Charles always showed kindness and love to those around him. He was a faithful servant of His Lord Jesus Christ and served Him in various ways, including serving in the Jail Ministry for Franklin and Nash Counties. His desire in life that he always quoted to his loving wife: "I would like to end this life on earth well."
