CASTALIA--Ronnie F. Pearce died at home Friday, October 9, 2020, at 76. A Franklin County native, he grew up on a farm in the Cedar Rock community. He attended Edward Best High School and joined the NC National Guard soon after graduation. He served his state and country for 32 years, retiring in 1995. Ronnie was married to Barbara Wood for 54 years.

Throughout his life, people knew Ronnie as a man who loved his family and sports; he was a "rabid" UNC fan. He spent his early years coaching his daughter's sports teams and playing golf. After retiring he enjoyed restoring old tractors and a friendly card game with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wood Pearce; daughter, Gina Stephens of Raleigh; grandchildren, Dylan, Hayden, Sam and Sawyer Stephens; son Jon Pearce and his wife Tonya Stone Pearce of Louisburg; and his sister, Violet Landreth of Greensboro. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Bunnie Pearce, and his brother, Bill Pearce.

A graveside service was held Monday, October 12, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Rock First Baptist Church of which Ronnie was a lifelong member.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
