ROSALYN GRIFFIN VANDENBERG

Rosalyn Griffin Vandenberg, 65, of Castalia passed away in her home on January 16, 2021. She was born on August 6, 1955 to the late Walter Floyd and Edith Inez Gupton Griffin. In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by two brothers, Brent and Tommie Griffin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Charles Van Vandenberg; her brother, Floyd McDonald ''Donnie'' Griffin and his wife, Nancy; brothers-in-law, Mario Moreno and Patrick Gardner; her best friend, Margaret Murphy Avent; a favorite nephew, Brad Griffin and his wife, Dana. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.

Rosie retired from the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Forest service after 30 years of employment. She loved going to the beach, Rosie and Charles especially looked forward to their October anniversary trips to Myrtle Beach where they became known by the local shop owners and loved dancing on Pier 14. She was baptized at Red Bud Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. Rosie was a good cook, a sweet soul, she loved her family, and loved watching sunrises and sunsets.

Service arrangements are currently not complete but will be updated when finalized.
