LUCY B. FULLER

FRANKLINTON, NC - Lucy B Fuller, 88, of Franklinton, passed away in Henderson on Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born July 19, 1932 in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Grady and Eunice (Hayes) Fuller. She was predeceased by her siblings, Millard Fuller, Alice Roberts, Andrew "Casey" Fuller, John Fuller, Sr., and Bessie Evans.

Lucy graduated Franklinton High School in 1951. She then started working at Erwin Mills and became head of household and cared for her mom and dad for the remainder of their lives. When Erwin Mills closed in 1959, she started working at Burlington Industries in Franklinton until it closed in 1984. She then went to Vance Granville Community College and earned an Associate Degree in Computer Programming in 1987. She continued her career as a clerk for Roses, then Kerr Drug Warehouse, and was Town Clerk for Franklinton.

She retired as senior clerk for Avnet, Inc. of Oxford in 1998. Lucy entered the work force again in 2000 as secretary of the Franklinton Methodist Church and served there for two years, She was always an active member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. She joined Mount Olivet as a teenager and was baptized at McGhee's Pond.

Lucy was interested in genealogy and pursued getting to know all she could about her family which included meeting relatives she did not know. She also did extensive research and contributed to the publishing of the History of Franklin County. Learning new things was important to Lucy. Over the years she took classes in art, cross stitch, ceramics, needle point, knitting, music, and many others. She loved learning about different places and meeting new people. She always put other people first and was very loyal to her entire family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Lucy is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jean Boone, John Fuller, Jr., Susan Medlin, Donna Morris, Dannie Preddy, Rosalee Blackley, and Neil Fuller.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2021 at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St, Franklinton. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Franklinton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her honor may be made to Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 1245 Mount Olivet Church Rd, Franklinton, NC 27525.
