Margaret Dement P. Schepp entered the gates of Heaven on January 29, 2021. She passed away peacefully at Duke Raleigh Hospital of a pulmonary embolism. Margaret was born on May 14, 1926 to the late William Mack and Sally Irma Aycock DeMent.

Margaret grow up in Youngsville, NC and graduated from Youngsville High School. After graduating from Louisburg College she moved to Washington DC and worked with the War Department. In her years there, she was very active in pageants. As a winner, she was invited to entertain the troops with the USO. She moved to California where she started to work at Rockwell International, now Boeing, as a secretary.

She was a lifetime student. Always working to advance within the company. She worked her way up to executive buyer before retiring in the late 70s. Margaret and her previous husband George also bought, remodeled, and sold many homes and apartment complexes in California.

Upon retiring from Boeing, Margaret returned to her beloved North Carolina where she settled in Wake Forest. She opened a furniture business and got her real estate license. She was active in her community and flourished in entertaining and loving her dear family. Margaret had a lust for life that can only be described as a Supernova. As she told of her many great life adventures, if you did not feel like you were living them with her, you were envious of her fire and wonder.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the joy of her life, her son John Alexander Paiva, III, brothers, William DeMent, Herbert, DeMent, Robert DeMent, Mack DeMent, George Winston DeMent, her sisters Josephine Leonard, Janie Perry, Ruth Oakley, Irma DeMent, Marie DeMent, and previous husband George Schepp.

A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Rev. Anita Marie James-Carnes officiating. A private burial will follow in the Town of Youngsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
