Geneva Woodlief Burnette, 90, went home to be with the Lord Thursday morning at Louisburg Nursing Center. She was born in Granville County, a daughter of the late Enoch and Ola Medlin Woodlief. Mrs. Burnette was a retired CNA having worked at Franklin Regional Medical Center.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 16th at Oakwood Cemetery, Louisburg, with Reverend Doug Moore officiating.
She is survived by her husband of almost 61 years, Eugene "M.E." Burnette; daughters, Cindy B. Gupton and husband Reece of Louisburg and Marlene Rennie and friend, Jack of Colorado; sisters, Ruth Ferrell, Emma Clevenger, Dorothy Beasley and Heddie Hall; grandchildren, Cameron Gupton, Colby Gupton (Kristen), Casey Gupton (Sydney), Michelle Vega (Omar) and Stephanie Batley and partner, Jessica; great-grandchildren; David and Sam Croxton, Arwen, Zoe, and Nolan Plummer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, James, Wayne, Otis, and Otha Finch, Marlen Burnette, Jr., William Gregory Burnette; grandson, Christopher Reece Gupton; brothers, Bill and Raymond Woodlief; sisters, Inez and Helen Arnold.
