ZEBULON --- Evelyne Stallings Horton, 91, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021 at her home with her loving and caring daughter by her side. She was born March 4, 1929 in Franklin County to the late Herbert Edward Stallings and Oma Pearce Stallings. Evelyne was a devoted wife and loving mom.

She graduated from Bunn High School and attended cosmetology school. She was a beautician, teacher's aide at Bunn Elementary, Social Worker for handicapped children for Franklin County and retired from the NC DHHS Child Support Section.

Evelyne loved working at H. E. Stallings Store with her late husband, Perry "Snake" Waddell Horton.

Graveside Entombment service was Thursday, March 4, 2021 at the Stallings Family Cemetery, Stallings Road, Pilot Community. There was an open visitation Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, the family will not be present. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing to ensure everyone's safety.

Evelyne is survived by her daughter, Charlene Evelyne Horton (Greg Spell); sister, Florence Stallings Williams; grand dog, Jack; loving friends Bunny and Lib Williams, and her special caregiver, Tabbatha Martin (the Main one).

In addition to her parents and her husband, Evelyne was preceded in death by her son, Herby Waddell Horton; sisters: Mary Edward Stallings, Nell S. Williams, Judith S. Alford.
