CHARLIE EARL WEST

LOUISBURG, NC -- Charlie Earl West, 72, of Louisburg, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was born October 12, 1948 a son of the late Spencer E. and Ethel (Roberts) West. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jeter and his brother, Rodney "Snake" West.

Charlie served in the U.S. Army from June 1968 until January 1970. He owned and operated his own business as a farmer and grading contractor. Charlie loved his grandchildren, his cows, especially "Little Bit," and heavy equipment.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda (Gupton) West, his children: Dalton Earl West, Brian C. West (Wanda), and Crystal C. West; his grandchildren: Taylor N. West, Brandon T. West, Tristan L. West, and Brodie H. West; siblings: Spencer Boyd West (Vicki), Mattie W. Newsome (Harvey) and Wayne West; a special nephew, John Wayne West, (Sarah) and their son Layne, as well as many special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the home for a time of visitation from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 9, 2021.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Lancaster Funeral & Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549. Interment will follow at the Gupton Family Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Mount Gilead Independent Baptist Church PO Box 564 Louisburg, NC 27549.
