DARLYNE ELIZABETH CASH

Darlyne Elizabeth Cash, 71, left her Earthly life on Monday May 3, 2021 after a short illness. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Elizabeth Pearce Cash and her Father, Fred Cheatham Cash. She leaves behind a sister, Patricia Cash Helmink, two nieces, Allison Ayscue (Carey Rogers) and Ashley Ayscue, as well as cousins, other family members and countless friends.

Darlyne was a lifelong teacher who graduated from Campbell College and received a Masters Degree in Special Education from Appalachian State, all with a 4.0 grade point average. She spent 30 years teaching in Vance and Granville counties and had a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of children. She loved being a teacher!

Darlyne had a network of close friends that she spent many years with and was always one to lend a hand whenever needed. She enjoyed bowling and spending time being social with her friends. She was well loved and will be deeply missed.

A gifted organist who enjoyed sharing her talent and music with the community for many years, she was an active member of Flat Rock Baptist Church and of the Flat Rock community. For this reason, our family asks that in lieu of flowers and if you are able, please make a donation in her name to the Flat Rock Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Flat Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Gary McNair officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Wake Forest is serving the Cash Family.
