BETSY BAKER SMITH

ZEBULON, NC--Betsy Baker Smith (Bet Bet), 71, of Zebulon, passed away at her home on Monday, May 10, 2021. She was born in Wake County, a daughter of the late Henry Kearney Baker and Ruth Scarborough Baker. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter D. Smith and her sister, Joan Baker Driver.

Betsy was a lifelong member of Pearce Baptist Church. She worked many years as a healthcare consultant for the American Cancer Society and Wayne County Health Department. Betsy had a love for animals, she had many cats and dogs as her companions.

Betsy is survived by her niece, Christi Driver Sasser and her husband, David and their children, Joanna, Jordan, Luke and Logan; she also will be missed by extended family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, at Pearce Baptist Church 4634 Pearces Rd, Zebulon, NC 27597. The family will receive friends following the interment at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to one of the following organizations, Pearce Baptist Church, Parkinson Foundation, ASPCA or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
