NANCY LEE SCHMIDT

LOUISBURG, NC -- Nancy Lee (Holzhausen) Schmidt, 77, of Louisburg, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 27, 2021. She was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on January 9, 1944, a daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (Senkbeil) Holzhausen. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Glenn and sister-in-law Verna, her sisters, Sara Geisler (Frank), Delores Johnson (Stewart) and her son Michael (Linda).

Nancy married the love of her life, Robert Schmidt, on October 13, 1962 in Las Vegas, NV. Nancy loved square dancing, belonging, at one time, to three clubs. She even had the experience of dancing on a live volcano when she and Bob traveled with the Angier Twirlers to Hawaii for the State SD convention. Nancy will always be remembered for providing an organized nurturing home for her family and will be missed immensely by them all.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Robert Schmidt, her children: Christopher Schmidt (Edna Jo), Lisa Hansens and Kimberly Roark; her grandchildren: Ethan Schmidt, Camren Socava aka Emily Schmidt, Kellyn Geisler, Kimber LaBounty, Kayla Allen, Donovan Hansens, Gage Roark, Conrad Roark, and Faith Roark; Her great-grandchildren: Abel Geisler, Kalina LaBounty, Lillian Allen, and Sammy Allen; her sister Sue Glaeser (Robert), and a sister-in-law Marlene Holzhausen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. A memorial has been established in her name at the Franklin County Animal Shelter Louisburg, NC.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com
