BETTY JEAN DUKE HOLMES
February 19, 1933 - June 26, 2021

Betty Jean Duke Holmes, 88, of Youngsville, NC, died Saturday, June 26, 2021 at her home. She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Timothy L. (T.L.) and Priscilla Duke and was a member of Youngsville Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was married to Maryland Holmes, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed working in her yard and flowers and was a great wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Holmes of Youngsville; her grandson, Ryan Woodlief of Youngsville; sisters, Dot Duke Gupton and husband, Wayne, of Louisburg and Diane Duke Loftin of Louisburg; brother, Tom Duke and wife, Nell, of Louisburg; sisters-in-law, Elaine Duke of Louisburg and Sarah Holmes Wiggins and husband, Twig, of Wake Forest; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Duke Holmes and by her brother, Coy Duke.

A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday, June 29, at Lancaster Memorial Park in Louisburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to Youngsville Baptist Church, P. O. Box 297, Youngsville, NC 27596.

Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center handled the arrangements.
