DORIS ROBERTS DENTON

Doris Roberts Denton, age 77, passed away at WakeMed on August 3, 2021, after having been very ill for several years. Doris was born on June 15, 1944, to the late Lillian and Clark Roberts and had two older sisters and one younger brother, all of whom grew up on a farm in Youngsville. After marrying, Doris lived most of her life in Louisburg.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Tommy B. Denton, and by her oldest sister, Peggy Chalk. Doris is survived by her two sons, Thomas B. Denton, Jr. and his wife Kim, and Carey Malone Denton and his wife Angela, and by her daughter, Angela Denton Foss and her husband Jeff. Doris is also survived by seven grandchildren: grandsons, Mark (fiancée Jennifer) and Edward Denton, and David (wife Katherine), Benjamin, and Joseph Denton, and granddaughters, Elizabeth Denton and Lindsey Foss. She is survived, too, by her sister, Jean Hill, and brother, Phil Roberts, and by her beloved black lab, Sasha.

Due to rising COVID-19 numbers, the family held a small, private graveside service for Doris on the morning of August 6, 2021, at Oakwood Cemetery, immediate family only.

If anyone would like to honor Doris's life, please consider making a donation in her memory to one of the following groups: Maple Spring's Baptist Children's Ministry, 1938 Hwy 56 East, Louisburg, NC 27549, Justice Volunteer Fire Department, 4413 NC 581, Spring Hope, NC 27882 or Helping Horse Therapeutic Riding, 5104 Riley Hill Road, Wendell, NC 27591.
