LARRY DEAN MASON

FRANKLINTON, NC--Larry Dean Mason, 80 of Franklinton, NC, went to be with his Lord, on Thursday September 16, 2021, at Wake Medical Center. The son of the late Herbert A. and Edith George Mason, he was born June 15, 1941 in Nantahala, Macon County, NC.

Larry enjoyed blue grass festivals where he made many friends over the years, he never met a stranger. Larry loved pickin and grinnin, blue grass music and his family, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Tommy Mason and sisters Rachel Conley and Sis Mitchell.

Left to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years, Gloria Watson Mason; daughters Tammy Mason Ray and Jersey "Dolly" Watson; grandsons John Michael Ray (Destiny), Jacob Mason Ray (Trina Kouns); as well as his pride and joys great grandsons Colton Mason and Wyatt Mitchell Ray. Also surviving are brothers Lionel, Don, and Buddy Mason, sister Beth Wishon.

The family will receive friends at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Franklinton, NC on Wednesday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mount Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mount Olivet Church Rd, Franklinton, NC 27525 in his memory.

Bright Funeral Home, 405 S. Main Street Wake Forest is in charge of his arrangements.
