PAUL LEIGHTON GARRISON "JINX"

Paul Leighton Garrison, (Jinx) 75, of Louisburg, NC went to Heaven on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at home with his family present, after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia, Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.

Paul left us on the anniversary if his mother's death of September 21, 2002. Paul grew up on his family farm in West Liberty, WV, the youngest of 5 children and was preceded in death by his parents Helen Shaler Garrison and Raymond Orlando Garrison, brother's Raymond (Gov.) Garrison and Maurice (Reecie) Garrison, and nephews Richard Kevin Garrison and E.R. McFadden.

Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years Sheila Bonar Garrison of Louisburg, NC, and children Lisa Dianne Harris of Louisburg, NC, and Kevin Leighton Garrison (Shelly) of Martinsburg, WV, Grandchildren Cody Wilson, Jaiden and Jordynn Harris of Louisburg, NC, Joshua Cook of Martinsburg, WV, sister Delores (Tissie) McFadden of Wellsburg, WV, brother Frank (Frannie) Garrison of West Alexander, Pa, and several nieces and nephews from Alaska, WV, Pa, and SC.

Paul dedicated his life to working hard and dedicated 32 years to Weirton Steel Corporation where he worked as a welder, metal fabricator and rigger. Following steel mill retirement, he continued to work full time until two years ago and worked for different companies in the Raleigh area - SPC, NICO, and Oldcastle Mulching Facility as the Maintenance Mechanic for several years. Papol as he was called by his family for the last 25 years, was Mr. Fix it and could trouble shoot and fix any problems we had with our homes, cars, and truly anything we needed - he did it.

He was a simple man and did not like fancy things, so to honor his wishes there will be no public visitation. The family will hold a private service on the family farm at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and absolute gratitude to Amedisys Hospice services of Franklinton, NC for the last two years of care. Dr. Shauna Guthrie, Nurses Dolly, Beth, Kristin, Jill, Hospice Care Team Patsy, Jeneva, and Debbie. The family feels that thank you is not enough to express to Katina who lovingly cared for our Papol as a family member. She was in their home everyday, Monday - Friday for two years. Her love, dedication and care are things that we are truly forever grateful for and we could not have made it through all of his illnesses and exacerbations without her. Arrangements are being handled by City of Oaks Funeral Home and Crematorium.
