FRANCES MARY DORSEY
November 21, 1933 - October 7, 2021 (age 87)

Frances Mary Dorsey was born Nov. 21 to Thomas & Alice McTighe in Olyphant, Pennsylvania. The family moved to New Jersey shortly thereafter and eventually to Compton, Ca. At the age of 17, Frances began what would be a nearly 50-year career at Pacific Bell. In 1957 while out with her girlfriends she came across a handsome sailor from North Carolina. Talmadge the country boy & Frances the city girl married in Sept. 1958. They spent nearly 41 years growing their love & family. They welcomed daughters Lorrie Ann and Becky, followed by Brian eight years later. In her 60s she attended the University of Redlands & obtained her bachelor's degree in Business.

Frances was the quintessential matriarch of her family; reveling in the joys & milestones of her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was very involved in her church as a Eucharistic Minister & member of the bereavement committee. At one point, she attended mass every day.

Frances is preceded in death by her soul mate Bennett T. Dorsey, her parents, and her siblings.

She is survived by her children Lorrie Ann (Steve), Rebecca, Brian (Jennifer), ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews & in-laws, as well as her beloved dog Seamus. Frances loved God immensely, her family wholeheartedly, and her friends loyally. She "never met a stranger" & considered her friends to be extended family. She loved spending time chatting, laughing, & hearing about others. She will be greatly missed but her legacy continues on through the many who loved her.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 23 at 11 a.m. at the Dorsey Family Cemetery with luncheon to follow. Arrangements by Strickland Funeral Home and Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net
