WILLIAM ARCHIBALD BAKER

LOUISBURG, NC--William Archibald Baker, 71, of Louisburg, passed away on October 21, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1949 to the late William Marshall and Ora Clee Griffin Baker. In addition to his parents, Archie was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Baker Gardner; and a brother-in-law, Roger Harris.

Archie is survived by his loving wife, Georgette Foster Baker; daughters Sabrina Baker Cox (Jason) and Kim Baker (Travis Benton); grandsons, Levi and Marshall Cox; his brother, Ben Baker (Angela); his sister, Kaye Harris; his mother-in-law, Frances Foster; sister-in-law, Sheila Allen (Bobby); and many special nieces and nephews.

Archie was known as Poppy by his grandchildren and family whom he loved dearly, he enjoyed the outdoors, pool days with his grandsons, and walks with his dogs. Archie served his country in the U.S. Army and then entered a career of construction and building. He was owner of Baker Builders and was a custom homebuilder for thirty years, building most of the homes around him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 6:00- 7:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg, NC 27549. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Maple Springs Baptist Church where burial will follow in the church cemetery.
