JANICE D. SOUTHERLAND
November 21, 1942 - December 29, 2021

LOUISBURG, NC - Mary Janice Denton Southerland, 79, of Louisburg, passed away Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021 at her home.

Janice was the daughter of the late Robinson Crusoe and Nellie Catherine Denton. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Southerland and Roy Kemp and her brother, Dalton Denton.

Janice was an exceptional cook and her dishes were enjoyed by many. She enjoyed Christmas and her home was always beautifully decorated. She was a member of Hill King U.M.C. She loved being involved with her church and all her church family.

Thank you to Hill King Church, friends and family for the love shown during her illness. The family would like to especially thank Janice's caregivers, Gail, Ernestine, Queen, Deborah, Rose and Shirley.

A funeral service was 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 31 at Hill King U.M.C.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Janice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jeff Sherrod of Nashville; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Michelle Southerland of Louisburg; grandsons, Josh Southerland and wife, Sarah; Dalton Southerland and Parker Sherrod.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hill King U.M.C., Janice Southerland Memorial Fund, c/o Ed Strickland, P.O. Box 955, Louisburg, NC 27549.
