WILLIAM T. ALLEN (BOOTIE)

HENDERSON, NC-- Mr. William T. Allen (Bootie), 80, passed away January 4, 2022. Bootie was born June 9, 1941, in Franklinton, NC to the late Tom and Hazel McGhee Allen. His final days were spent surrounded by the family and friends he loved so much.

After attending Franklinton High School, Bootie's career in the trucking business spanned over 6 decades. In 1958 He began hauling pickles for Perfect Packed Products Company; in 1960 becoming one of the first truck drivers for Roses Stores, both Henderson, NC companies. In 1975, Bootie, known to many as "Shotgun Willie", branched out with his own business, William T. Allen Trucking. William T. Allen Trucking successfully operated for 46 years until Bootie's retirement in November 2021.

Bootie's life revolved around his love for trucking, travel and good times shared with friends. He loved music, dancing and entertaining. With his larger-than-life personality and sly grin, He won the hearts of those around him. He was one of a kind and will certainly be missed by all.

Bootie is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughters, Penny Horton and Missy Champion (Brian); stepchildren, Raymond Allen (Angela) and Pooh Allen (Leann); grandchildren, Lindsey, Makayla, Jayme, Ryan, Ashton, Morgan and Kendall; and three great grandchildren.
