LOUISBURG, NC--Joan Lee McMullen Sims, 84, passed away on April 5, 2022, she was born in Washington DC on August 16, 1937 to the late Floyd J. and Ida Dove McMullen. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, Virgil Clinton Sims Sr.

Joan is survived by her sons, John Sims (Kay), B.J. Sims (Lynne) and James J. Sims; her four grandchildren, Kristin Sims, Daniel Sims, David Sims, and Timothy Sims; and her brother, Harold McMullen.

Joan loved the Lord; as well as her boys, their wives and her grandchildren. Joan enjoyed doing find-a-word puzzles, crosswords, and coloring.

Services will be private. The family will receive friends at the home of John and Kay Sims.

The Sims family wants to express appreciation to the staff at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the love, care and attention given to Joan for the last seven years.
