RACHEL ANN FOSTER DENTON

LOUISBURG, NC--Rachel Ann Foster Denton, 90, of Louisburg, NC passed away on April 21, 2022. She was born in Franklin County on February 20, 1932, to the late John Luther and Mattie Snow Murphy Foster. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Major Thomas Denton; three sisters; and seven brothers.

Rachel is survived by her daughter, Karen Ann Denton Mitchell of Charlotte; her granddaughter, Michele Mitchell of New York City; sisters, Lois King of Louisburg and Linda Rich of Castalia; her "foster daughter", Camille Blommer; special friends, Julie Dalton Loos and Jane Dalton Currin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rachel graduated from Gold Sand High School with the class of 1950. She was retired from Southern States, formerly CCF & FCX after 40 years of service. She was a former member of Guess Road Baptist Church and Holloway Street Baptist Church both in Durham where she served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 45 years. Rachel was a current member of Centerville Baptist Church.

The family received friends at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 5-7:30 p.m. Funeral services were held at Centerville Baptist Church on Monday April 25, 2022 at 2 p.m., with the Reverend Doug Moore officiating. Burial followed at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will gather at other times at the home of Amy Denton in Centerville. Flowers will be accepted or consider contributions to Centerville Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
