Joseph F. Poleo, Jr.
April 29, 1930 - June 28, 2022

LOUISBURG, NC--Joseph Frederick Poleo, Jr., 92, of Louisburg, NC passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at his home. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, he was the son of Joseph Frederick Poleo and Francesca Ricciardi Poleo. Joe served his country in the United States Air Force and was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan. He attended Boston Technical High School. After serving in the Air Force, he attended Ohio University obtaining a degree - BSME. He came to Greensboro, N.C. in 1960 to work for Watson Engineers on the design of heating and air conditioning systems for UNCG. He remained in Greensboro working for various companies until he moved to Louisburg in 1985. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Titus.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Debra Burnette Poleo; sons, Matthew Poleo and Kaid Driver and his wife, Anita; daughters, Yvonne Johnson and her husband, James, Diane Poleo, Kristine P. Brown and her husband, Charlie, Lisa P. Sprinkle and her husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Driver (his Red Sox buddy), CJ Brown, Jessica Brown, Mark Sprinkle, Justin Sprinkle and his wife, Jessica, Ronnie Parsons and his wife, Belinda, and Brian Parsons and his fiancee, Missy; six great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park in Louisburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Amedysis Hospice, 3320 US-1 Suite B, Franklinton, NC 27525, or the Clint Kennedy Service Fund in care of Louisburg Baptist Church.
