Peggy Ann Renn Pinnell
May 8, 1933 - October 15, 2022

LOUISBURG, NC--Peggy Ann Renn Pinnell, 89, of Louisburg and formerly of the Cedar Rock Community, passed away on October 15, 2022. She was born on May 8, 1933 to the late Clarence and Fannie Powell Renn. In addition to her parents, Peggy was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Elliott "Red" Pinnell; and siblings, Macon Renn, Wilson Renn, Alvin Renn, Lewis Renn, Syble Woodard, and Mary Bailey.

Peggy, who was also known as "Momma Red" was very active at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church where she had been the pianist and organist, a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, sang in the choir and former director of WMU. She had farmed with her husband, worked as the librarian at Edward Best School and owned and operated C.E. Pinnell Insurance Agency. Peggy also served for many years on the NC Domiciliary Committee.

Peggy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alice and William Cooper; her son and daughter-in-law, Elliott and Robin Pinnell; her six grandchildren, Chris Van Hoose, Jon Van Hoose, Stephen Van Hoose, Michael Cooper, Stephanie Pinnell, Brandi Pinnell. Also surviving are six great grandchildren; her sisters, Jeanette Rowe, Jane Pearce (Bill), And Faye Shearin (Milton); and her sister-in-law, Helen Renn.

The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall at Cedar Rock First Baptist Church, 4879 NC-56, Castalia, NC 27816 on Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 3 - 3:45 p.m., with a service to be held in the church sanctuary at 4 p.m. Reverends Nathaniel Williams and John Woodard will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
