Jerry Dean Temple

Zebulon, NC--Jerry Dean Temple, 76, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born January 11, 1946, in Harnett County to the late Fred Albert Temple and Margaret Hamilton Temple. Jerry graduated from Four Oaks High School and received his Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from Nash Technical Community College. Jerry retired from the NC State Highway Patrol with 19 ½ years of service. Following his law enforcement career, he owned and operated his own business, Jerry Temple Tax & Accounting.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Gay Temple; son, Jerry Dean Temple, Jr. (Toni); daughter, Candie Dudley (Gary); grandchildren: Thad Dudley, Zachary Dudley, Cayla Ennis, Jordan Temple, Sierra Haithcock, Tyler Atwell, Cara Atwell; great-grandchildren: Jasmine, Bradley, Bailey, Addison, Chase, Kaleb, Aiden, Sophia, Liam, Lincoln, Laila, Austin, Hazel Grace, and Granger; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor Atwell; brothers: Bobby, Dennis, Tony, and Bill Temple; and a sister, Jean T. Twiggs.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Rock Spring Baptist Church, 34 Rock Springs Church Road, Louisburg with honors provided by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church Mission Ministries.
