Mary Catherine Ray Averette

Louisburg, NC--Mary Catherine Ray Averette, 55, of Louisburg passed away on December 5, 2022. She was born on August 6, 1967 to the late Roy and Betty Crocker Ray. In addition to her parents, Mary Catherine was predeceased by her grandson, Christopher Dillon Averette. Mary Catherine was a very caring person, always concerned about others before herself. She loved diet Pepsi, traveling, especially to the beach. She was always her children's biggest fan. No one was ever a stranger to Mary Catherine, she made friends with everyone that she met.

Mary Catherine is survived by her husband of 35 years, Christopher Averette; her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Megan Averette; her daughter and son-in-law, Tiffani and Robert Sweet; her granddaughter, Kayla Perez; her mother-in-law, Donna Richards; and her brothers, James Carver (Debra) and William Ray (Renee) and her canine companions Gunner and Tara.

The family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Harris Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Haley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
