LOUISBURG, NC - Carolyn Griffin Gardner, 83, of Louisburg, died Tuesday morning, February 21, 2023.

Carolyn was born to Hugh Donald and Ruby Lynn Griffin in Centerville, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Hugh Donald Griffin Jr., sister Harriet Lynn, and her beloved husband of 49 years the late Allen Gardner.

Carolyn was a loyal and faithful member of Louisburg Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a graduate of E.C.U. and spent many years as a homemaker and teacher with the Franklin County School System. It was only after 42 years that she fully retired to care for Allen. She touched many lives both in and out of the classroom. Her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by all those she encountered.

She is survived by her two sons T. Allen "Buzzy" Gardner Jr. and Donald Griffin "Griff" Gardner. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren; Allen "Trey" Gardner III, Vivian Dare "Vivi" Gardner, and Theodore Griffin "Teddy" Gardner whom she deeply cherished.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
