Joyce Maxine Greathouse
December 30, 1936 - June 23, 2023

Franklinton, NC--Joyce Maxine Pace Greathouse of Franklinton, NC passed away on June 23, 2023. Maxine was born on December 30, 1936 to the late Howard and Lola Godfrey Pace. In addition to her parents, Maxine is predeceased by a son, Dewey T Matthew, Jr.; a great-grandson, Drake Matthew Dooley; and her long time partner and companion, William "Bill" E. Preddy.

Maxine is survived by her daughters, Teresa Greathouse Gottes (David), and Joyce Dooley; her son, James Lee Greathouse; grandsons, Michael Greathouse and William C Dooley, III; a great-granddaughter, Allysa Peyton Dooley; her sister, Patricia Markham, who cared for both Maxine and Bill for several years; Bill's nephew, Rodney Preddy (April), who also cared for and looked after Maxine; numerous nieces and nephews; and not to be left out is Maxine's fur baby, "Baby Girl".

A graveside memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on July 11, 2023 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
