Castalia, NC--Jeanette Smith Foster, 79, of the Red Bud Community, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 30, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on November 10, 1943, to the late Percy and Mozelle Leonard Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Leonard Foster; and brothers Harold Winston Smith and Phillip Michael Smith; and nephew Harold Winston Smith Jr.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Barbara Foster Bartholomew (Morty), granddaughter, Carrie Bartholomew Bass (Rayndall), grandson, Noah James Bartholomew (Meagan), and great-grandsons Bennett Julian Bass and Cullen Foster Bass, a special nephew Evan Smith; brother, P.H. Smith (Mary Sue), brother-in-law Rex Foster (Andree) and several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette retired in 2004 after a long career with the Franklin County Tax Department. Jeanette was born and raised in the Red Bud Community. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Red Bud Baptist Church. She loved her church family and her Sunday School class. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 2:30-3:45 p.m. at Red Bud Baptist Church, 832 Highway 58, Castalia, NC 27816, where funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. with the Reverend Mark Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
