A 2016 graduate of Pecos High School, Jacob joined the Marines right after graduation and served proudly in Okinawa, Japan, at Air Station Yuma, AZ, and at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was a talented data systems administrator who excelled at his craft and received the following accolades during his four years of active service - Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terror Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and four Expert Rifle qualifications. In 2020, Jacob transitioned to Individual Ready Reserve and returned to Pecos to work while pursuing a degree in Cyber Security.

He is survived by his mother Heather McGhee of Pecos, TX, his father E. Scott McGhee (and wife Lydia) of Franklinton, NC, his sister Bonnie Hair (and husband Dylan) of southeastern NC, his brother E.
