Pattie Murray Tharrington

LOUISBURG, NC--Pattie Murray Tharrington, 90, of the Alert Community, passed away at her home on Friday, August 11, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 11, 1932 to the late Joseph Franklin Murray and Lena Bobbitt Murray in Franklin County, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Perry L. Tharrington; one son, Dale Tharrington; two sisters, Maxine Ball, and Dee Harris, and three brothers, Wade, Winford, and Lee Murray.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dean Tharrington and wife Deborah and Terry Tharrington; daughter in law Patricia Tharrington; her brother, James Murray; grandchildren, Angie Fields (Shane), Ryan Tharrington, Deana Tharrington, Samantha Tharrington, Leah Tharrington and Nikki Tharrington; great-grandchildren, Jordan Harris, Daylin Tharrington, Ashlynn Tharrington, Gracelynn Tharrington and Aniah Tharrington, Josh Myles, Lane and Jake Fields; and four great-great grandchildren.

Pattie was a sweet and kind soul. She was loving and compassionate and always saw the best in everyone. She worked in manufacturing jobs in her younger years and then worked in the grocery store that she and her husband Perry owned for over thirty years. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. Pattie loved flowers and spending time with her grandbabies.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the love and care she received from caretakers, Shirley Cyrus, Sheila Mosley, and Shannon Smith.

A graveside Memorial Service is Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Bobbitt Cemetery, 123 Schloss Rd, Louisburg, NC 27549 and Rev. Daren Smart officiating. Burial will take place on a later date at the family cemetery.

Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services of Louisburg.
