LALA M. MOON
October 2, 1928 - August 27, 2023

LOUISBURG, NC--Lala Mae McLamb Moon, 94, of Louisburg, passed away Sunday morning, August 27, 2023, at Franklin Oaks.

Lala was a daughter of the late Willis Edgar McLamb and Phoebe Godwin McLamb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grey Moon; sisters, Alma Kruger, Vada Dawson, and Ernestine Ledford; and step-mother, Thelma McLamb.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 1, at Louisburg Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.

Lala worked as a registered nurse for over 50 years. She worked at Franklin Memorial Hospital until 1960 when she became the nurse at Louisburg College, a position she held for over 30 years. Her last job was as a nurse at Bunn Correctional Center, until her retirement in 1995. In her free time, she enjoyed being a part of her bowling league, the Silver Foxes; and enjoyed line dancing with the Swinging Seniors.

Lala is survived by her daughter, Sandy Ward; grandson, Smitty Ward; great-grandchildren, Summer and Autumn Allen; brothers, George McLamb and Norward McLamb; sisters, Ada Allman and Marie Lee; and several nieces and nephews.
