JAMES ARTHUR "ART" HEDGEPETH
March 9, 1964-September 2, 2023

LOUISBURG, NC--James Arthur Hedgepeth, 59, of Louisburg, passed away Saturday evening, September 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Art was a beloved husband of 36 years, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time outdoors. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Art was the son of Cliff Hedgepeth and Brenda H. Hedgepeth of Louisburg. He was preceded in death by his father, Cliff Hedgepeth.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2023 at White Level Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 103 W. Franklin Street, Louisburg, NC 27549.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Lisa C. Hedgepeth of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Olivia Hedgepeth; grandson James; daughter and son-in-law Nicole and Jake Pastirik; brothers, Clifton Hedgepeth Jr., wife Karen; Craig Hedgepeth, wife Melody; and Kent Hedgepeth; brothers-in-law, John M. Civitillo Sr., wife Elaine; Nicholas A. Civitillo Jr., wife Tracy; and James D. Civitillo, wife Maryellen; many nieces and nephews; and best friend Kim Bell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Northern Sportsman Take a Kid Fishing Event, 774 Gold Sand Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
