Betty Jean Allen Dorsey

Franklinton, NC--Betty Jean Allen Dorsey, age 84 passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at her home in Franklinton with family members by her side. She was born March 18, 1939, in Granville County to the late George Snow and Myrtie Medlin Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Dorsey and by four brothers.

Betty Jean was a dedicated Christian who devoted her life to her family and serving others. She was a hard worker who loved people and enjoyed hosting many family and friend gatherings. She was a member of Oak Level Christian Church and retired from Eye Care Associates where she worked for over 29 years.

Betty Jean is survived by her two sons Curtis Kim Dorsey and Edward George Dorsey; grandchildren, Abbie Carter (Blair), and Ben Dorsey (Shelby); great-grandchildren, Rebekah Carter, Addison Hardy, and Marion Carter; great-great granddaughter, Serenity Cervantes, and soon to be great-great grandson, Branson Dorsey. In addition, she is survived by one sister, Linda Parker (Earl) and many nieces and nephews.

The visitation was Wednesday, September 27 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason Street, Franklinton, NC. Reverend David Averette will officiate the graveside service on Thursday, September 28 at 2 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton.
