In Loving Memory of Mary Sue Langley Vick
April 17, 1947 - November 15, 2023

ZEBULON, NC--Mary Sue Langley Vick, 76, of Zebulon, North Carolina, peacefully left this world on November 15, 2023. Born to Jack Holt "Jake" Langley Sr. and Gracie Bowden Langley of Spring Hope, North Carolina on April 17, 1947, Sue worked as a manager in retail for many years.

Outside of this role, she was a devoted wife, mother and NaNa. She was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Langley Jr. and Carole Langley Whiddon, her husband of 54 years, Melvin Clarence Vick, her sons, Melvin Glenn Vick and Steven Clarence Vick, and cat, Fuzzy.

She found joy in fishing, working outdoors and crafting. A skilled artisan, she sold her handcrafted woodwork and embroidery at the NC State Farmers Market for many years. Sue also enjoyed collecting shells on beach excursions, finding solace and beauty in God's creation. However, what truly brought her the greatest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren, from their tee ball games to family dinners.

She is survived by her sisters, Glendora Langley Strickland, Shirley Langley Bryant and Inez Langley Brantley; and her sisters-in-laws, Mavis Vick Pearce and Marlene Vick Lamm. Her legacy lives on through the lives of her beloved grandchildren, Steven Troy Vick, Emily Clay Vick Lassiter (Harrison) and Katie Grace Vick (Hunter Gill). She is also survived by her daughters-in-law Mary Clay Moseley Vick Brown (Carlton) and Gina Gupton Vick Kimmerly (Brian).

The impact of her life is evident in the memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to love her.

The celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 20 at Strickland Funeral Home in Wendell. Her final resting place will be at Duke Memorial Baptist Church in Louisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wake County chapter of The Compassionate Friends in Sue's memory.
