EMILY SUE BALL HODGES
July 6, 1951 - November 29, 2023
Emily Sue Ball Hodges

LOUISBURG, NC--Emily Sue Ball Hodges, 72, of Louisburg, died on Wednesday afternoon, November 29, 2023.

Emily was the daughter of the late Walter Henry Ball and Robbie Lee Lassiter Ball. Emily was born in Day, Florida and moved as a child to Louisburg with her family. She attended Louisburg High School and graduated from Franklin Christian School in 1970.

Emily was a quiet, kind soul with a soft spot for animals and fondness for her found "treasures". She had trust and faith in those she loved. Even though she was not able to travel often in recent years, she always kept in touch and reaffirmed her love for them. She was a dedicated worker who retired after 38 years from Hon Furniture as a Quality Control Specialist.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Emily is survived by her husband of 17 years, Eddie Hodges; sisters, Pamela Ball Hayes of Louisburg, and LeAnn Ball Hayes and husband Ted of Louisburg; brothers, Walter Ball, Jr. (Buster) and wife Vicky of Youngsville, Ronald Ball of Louisburg, and Donald Ball of Louisburg; step-children, Paul Bradley Hodges, Danyell Hodges, Jason Kyle Hodges, and Kimberly Hodges, all of Virginia; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband Eddie was said by her to be the best thing to happen to her. He and her siblings and many cousins love her and will hold her in their hearts.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, 103 W. Franklin Street Louisburg, N.C. 27549 www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
